RS Venture Connect World Championship 2024

The 2024 RS Venture Connect World Championship will be held at Rutland Sailing Club in the United Kingdom.

As in previous years, the event will be open to both 'Para' teams and 'Inclusive' Teams. Unlike previous editions of this event, there will be no Grand Final race day. Instead, we are ensuring that all teams get an extra day of racing and the event series will be decided based on overall series points. This change has been made by the RS Venture Connect class after receiving feedback from sailors and their team representatives. More time on the water equals more value for money and more importantly, more fun....something that we hope that everyone will have plenty of at this event.

Teams wishing to participate in the 'Para' category of the event must ensure that both sailors (Helm and Crew) hold a Para World Sailing Minimal Disability (MD) Classification Status, valid at the time of the event. Due to there being no classifiers attending this event, sailors wishing to classify for the event will need to contact Para World Sailing in order to arrange a classification interview prior to the event. 

Teams wishing to participate in the 'Inclusive' category of the event must comprise of at least 1 Sailor with a disability. All inclusive sailors will be asked to self-certify at the point of registering for the event. There is no requirement for the nature of the disability of the Inclusive Sailor or Sailors in the teams sailing in the Inclusive Category to comply with the Para World Sailing Minimal Disability (MD) Classification criteria. 

A fleet of 8x Charter boats as provided by RS Sailing will be available for use by teams wishing to attend the event that are unable to bring their own boats. Teams wishing to attend the event with their own boats should ensure that these boats meet the current RS Venture Connect class association equipment rules. A copy of the class rules can be found in the 'Documents' section of this registration platform. Please contact the Class representative (details in the NoR document) if you are in doubt about the eligibility of your boat/s.
